Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a targeted and tissue-preserving treatment for actinic keratoses, Bowen's disease and superficial basal cell carcinomas. A light-sensitive agent is applied to the affected areas and then activated by daylight and acts selectively on damaged skin cells while leaving the surrounding healthy tissue unaffected. In our practice, we use a modern daylight lamp that enables a particularly even and well-tolerated treatment.
